Together we are stronger
Informatics Europe is the voice of the Informatics research and education community in Europe.
Bringing together ca. 200 university departments, research labs and industrial members, today we represent over 50'000 informatics researchers across more than 30 European countries. As a non-profit membership association, our activities are mainly performed by scientist volunteers who collaborate in working groups and ad-hoc task forces. Outcomes are endorsed by our community through its Board of Directors. The potential of Informatics Europe can go as far as our collective ambitions take it!
Our mission is to empower and unite the European informatics community, to find concerted positions, act on shared priorities, and support policy making in Education, Research, and the Social Impact of informatics in Europe. We do so by addressing strategic matters and emerging trends in informatics and related fields, fostering unity in the variety of our member institutions, and promoting pan-European collaboration.
We provide a platform for European institutions to join forces in supporting the development of Informatics Education research and affecting national and European policies related with Digital Education (at all levels). Learn more here.
We are committed to enhancing Informatics research quality, promoting essential standards, continuous improvement, and best practices in today's dynamic technological landscape. Learn more here.
We aim to raise awareness about the broad consequences of digital technologies across ethical, cultural, political, and economic dimensions, emphasizing the integration of social impact and ethics in Informatics research and education. Learn more here.
We have a common cause and a common interest. This is the reason for university departments, research labs and industrial organizations to join us, for their affiliated researchers to contribute our activities since 2005 and for National Informatics Associations (NIAs) to choose us for engaging in European discussions.
