Board Elections and New Members in 2019

Informatics Europe is looking back to an eventful 2019 and is thrilled to welcome not only seven new Board members to our team, but also thirteen new members from 10 different countries in our community!

At the 2019 Annual General Assembly held in Rome on October 29, seven Board members were re-elected for the term 2020-2021:

  • Enrico Nardelli (University of Roma "Tor Vergata") as President
  • Gregor Engels (Paderborn University) as Treasurer
  • Elisabetta Di Nitto (Politecnico di Milano) as Vice-President
  • Mehdi Jazayeri (University of Lugano) as Vice-PresidentECSS2019 360
  • Kim Mens (UCLouvain), Pekka Orponen (Aalto University) and Jaak Vilo (University of Tar-tu) as Board members-at-large.

In addition, we are glad to announce the election of the following new Board members-at-large for the term 2020-2021:

  • Dick Bulterman (CWI and VU Amsterdam)
  • Harald Gall (University of Zurich)
  • Ismael García-Varea (University of Castilla-La Mancha)
  • Asunción Gómez-Pérez (Polytechnic University of Madrid)
  • Letizia Jaccheri (Norwegian University of Science and Technology)
  • Jean-Marc Jézéquel (IRISA/University of Rennes)
  • Viorel Negru (West University of Timisoara).

Furthermore, thirteen new members joined us during the past year and let Informatics Europe grow to a total of 145 institutions from 32 European countries:

        - Department of Computational Biology
        - Department of Information Systems
        - Department of Language and Information Sciences
