ECSS 2021 Early Bird Registration Offer Extended

The ECSS 2021 early bird registration offer is now extended until September 30!

With the main theme “Informatics for a Sustainable Future”, ECSS 2021 will be held as a hybrid summit in Madrid from 25 to 27 October 2021. The annual European Computer Science Summit is the place where leaders, decision-makers, and anyone interested in informatics/computer science research and education in Europe gather to debate strategic themes and trends related to research, education, and policies.

This year’s summit program includes:

  • Leaders Workshop: special workshop for leaders of informatics research and education, with this year’s theme “Open Science and its Impact on Research and Career Development”.
  • Professional Development Workshop for Early Career Researchers: workshop supporting PhD students and Postdocs in the development of their soft skills related to presentation abilities, networking, developing a research plan and connections to industry.
  • Scientific Main Theme Session: core session of ECSS 2021 discussing the main theme “Informatics for a Sustainable Future” from the perspective of future innovations and safeguards supported by fundamental and applied Computer Science research.
  • Informatics Europe Special Session: special session where IE activities and outcomes are presented – an opportunity for IE members to network and brainstorm strategies together for IE’s future development.
  • Awards Session: where this year’s winners of the Best Practices in Education Award and the Minerva Informatics Equality Award present their winning projects.
  • WIRE-EUGAIN Workshop: supported by our COST action “European Network for Gender Balance in Informatics” project team, the full-day workshop will focus on the theme “Sustainability and Gender Balance – How to Retain Girls and Women in Computer Science”.
  • National Informatics Associations Workshop: annual workshop in collaboration with the National Informatics Associations in Europe, with this year’s themes “Interdisciplinary Informatics Curricula” and “Research Evaluation in Informatics”.
