Job Description

Are you a skilled communicator with a passion for relationship management and membership growth? Informatics Europe is seeking a Membership Coordinator to join our team, working remotely within Europe. In this dynamic role, you'll be the first point of contact for membership-related aspects, helping us enhance our community and achieve our mission. The steeper we grow, the stronger our voice!

Informatics Europe (www.informatics-europe.org) represents, since 2006, the academic and research community in Informatics in Europe and neighbouring countries. Fostering unity in the variety of our member institutions, we promote concerted positions and act on shared priorities in Education, Research, and the Social Impact of informatics.

Key Responsibilities: As a Membership Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in fostering engagement, expanding our membership base, and managing our member relationships. Your responsibilities include:

  • Serving as the primary point of contact for member inquiries, promptly addressing questions and concerns.
  • Fostering members’ engagement and participation in Informatics Europe activities. This includes suggesting innovative membership offerings based on trends’ analysis and member feedback, and collaborating with other staff to develop and implement initiatives and marketing campaigns.
  • Identifying and cultivating prospective members, focusing on academic informatics institutions and public/private informatics research labs across Europe.
  • Assisting with event planning and execution, including our annual summit.
  • Preparing correspondence, presentations, and other materials as needed.
  • Processing membership applications and renewals, maintaining up-to-date membership records, and generating reports on membership activity and trends.
  • Supporting the enlargement and nurturing of the organization’s sponsors pipeline.

What you bring to the role:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g. business, marketing, or communications).
  • Experience in membership or customer relationship management, ideally in an academic and/or socially engaged B2B environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects and competing priorities.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills in English; proficiency in other European languages is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with membership management software (e.g., MemberClicks, Wild Apricot, or similar), desired.
  • Graphic design skills and proficiency in social media platforms, website content management systems, and marketing campaigns are a strong plus.
