(UAS) Austria
A significant increase in the number of Master's students at UAS in recent years was due to the emergence of new interdisciplinary studies offered by UAS related to the study field of "Informatics".
(UAS) Belgium
Significant variations in the percentages of female students in Master's programs and of Master's degrees awarded to female students at UAS can be better understood considering that the number of students in Master's programs and of Master's degrees awarded at UAS in all cases is quite small and therefore small variations in the absolute numbers reflect on a strong variation in the percentages.
(RU) Bulgaria
The numbers are provided only for RU since Colleges (колежи) do not offer Master's studies in Informatics.
(UAS) Czech Republic

(RU) Denmark
For Denmark numbers are updated once each year. In connection with the next updating the numbers of the most recent year will be subject to changes, they are regarded as temporary and will be replaced by new numbers in the subsequent year.
(RU) Denmark
The numbers are provided only for RU since Master's studies in Informatics are not offered by UAS (Professionshøjskoler).
(RU) Estonia
The numbers are provided only for RU since UAS (Rakenduskõrgkoolid) do not offer Master's studies in Informatics.
(RU) France
Studies aiming at a Master and Engineer degree (Diplôme d'Ingénieur) offered by Universities and Grandes Écoles supervised by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation. Statistics reported covers only public higher education institutions supervised by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (Ministère de l’Enseignement supérieur, de la Recherche et de l’Innovation) which are granted to deliver national diplomas (diplômes nationaux) [FR1]. The data from private higher education institutions (e.g. École Pour l'Informatique et les Techniques Avancées - EPITA, etc.) and institutions supervised by other Ministries (e.g. École Polytechnique, Institut Mines Télécom, etc.) which represent approximately 10% of all reputable Informatics higher education institutions in France is not available.

(RU + UAS) Ireland
Note that the difference between RU and UAS in Ireland becomes less prominent after the creation of Technological Universities (TU) since 2019 under the reforms set out in Ireland’s National Strategy for Higher Education. TUs which are replacing the IoTs (classified in the Data Portal as UAS) have a certain focus on academic research varying across institutions. Therefore, some TUs having strong emphasis on research are more comparable with traditional RU rather than with UAS.

(RU) Lithuania
The numbers are provided only for RU since Master's studies in Informatics are not offered by UAS (Kolegija).
(UAS) Netherlands
There are only a few Master's programs offered by UAS (Hogescholen, Hoger Beroepsonderwijs). Significant variations in the percentages of female students in Master's programs and of Master's degrees awarded to female students can be better understood considering that the number of students in Master's programs and of Master's degrees awarded in all cases is quite small and therefore small variations in the absolute numbers reflect on a strong variation in the percentages. Note that the numbers provided are approximate (1-2% error) because the data is not provided for the individual programs where there are less than 5 students enrolled.
(RU) Norway
Numbers are rounded to the nearest 5. A significant increase in the numbers of Master's students and degrees awarded at RU since 2016/17 was due to several mergers between RU (Universiteter) and UAS (Høyskoler). The former became part of different public Universities and students or degrees awarded are counted since 2016/17 as RU students [NO4].

(RU) Poland
The data for total number of students and total number of graduates includes the number of students enrolled in both university-type (RU in our definition) and non university-type (in our definition classified as UAS) of higher education insitutions. This explains the comparatively much higher numbers of enrolled students reported for Poland. For all the other countries where both RU and UAS co-exist, except Sweden, numbers are reported separately.
(UAS) Portugal

The numbers are provided only for RU since Univerisities of Applied Sciences (UAS) do not exist in Spain.
(RU) Sweden
The statistics reported for Sweden differ from those for other countries in the following ways: 1) Combined numbers for RU and UAS: The numbers for Sweden include both universities (universitet, classified as RU in our definition) and university colleges (högskolor, classified as UAS in our definition). In other countries, except Poland (where RU and UAS institutions co-exist), data is reported separately for each type of institution. 2) Enrolled Students: The data for enrolled students includes those registered for full study programs aimed at second-cycle degrees (Magisterexamen, Masterexamen, Civilingenjörsexamen) as well as those taking individual courses within second-cycle degree programs. This broader inclusion explains the comparatively higher number of enrolled students reported for Sweden. Numbers of degrees awarded include only those who received a respective second-cylce degree (Magisterexamen, Masterexamen, Civilingenjörsexamen), ensuring comparability with data from other countries.

(RU) UK
2019/20 saw the introduction of a new subject coding system, the Higher Education Classification of Subjects (HECoS), which replaced the previous subject coding system used in years prior to 2019/20. This change slightly affected the distribution of students across fields of study, including Informatics. Therefore time series comparisons between 2010/11-2018/19 and 2019/20-2020/21 years should be made with caution [UK7]. Numbers are rounded to the nearest 5.
