The ECSS 2011 is the 7th Summit of deans, department chairs and senior faculty of leading European Computer Science and Informatics faculties, departments, research institutes and laboratories. Like its previous editions, ECSS 2011 is the meeting place for anyone interested in issues of research, education and policy in Informatics.

Traditionally, ECSS conferences are organized by Informatics Europe in collaboration with a host institution, active member of the association. The ECSS 2011, hosted by the Dipartimento di Elettronica e Informazione (DEI), Politecnico di Milano, will be held in Milan, Italy, on November 7-9, 2011.

Milan is an exciting, cosmopolitan, attractive, multi-faceted, elegant city. One of the most important Italian cities and the country's economical center, Milan merges an intriguing mixture of culture, science, art, fashion and economy. The city is renowned to be an international centre of research and technology, the capital of fashion and design, a temple of music, and the custodian of an striking artistic heritage.

The ECSS 2011 was successfully held in Milan. Three days of extremely interesting talks by top class researchers, educators and leaders in industry and governmental agencies, experiences and best practices exchange and passionate debate marked the 7th European Computer Science Summit hosted by the Politecnico di Milano.
