The W3 professorship in Computational Social Science (W2906) is for researchers with an established programme in the field, whether that programme rests on network analysis, automated text analysis, large-scale digital behavioural data, AI-based modelling, or a combination of these. The process also weighs experience in leading coordinated research, for instance as principal or co-investigator in collaborative research centres or joint projects. A formal affiliation with the Department of Computer Science is possible.
SOUNDS is a project at Saarland University, funded with €29 million until 2032, that studies societal change through novel digital data sources.
