Awards

Promoting and inspiring excellence

Each year, Informatics Europe presents awards recognizing outstanding initiatives that advance the quality of research and education in Informatics in Europe.

  • Debut in 2023, the Best Dissertation Award aims to stimulate young researchers from our member institutes by rewarding them, and disseminating excellent research findings to the Informatics Europe community and beyond.
  • The Minerva Informatics Equality Award recognises best practices in Departments or Faculties of European Universities and Research Labs that encourage and support the careers of women in Informatics research and education. This award is first presented in 2016.
  • The Best Practices in Education Award recognises educational initiatives across Europe that improve the quality of Informatics teaching and the attractiveness of the discipline. This award was initiated in 2011 and is on pause for 2023 as we look for a new sponsor. This email address is being protected from spambots. Entrants for the awards may nominate themselves or be nominated. The prestige of the Informatics Europe awards relies on the high calibre of the international award committees convened each year to review submissions. Winners are announced at an Award Ceremony during the annual European Computer Science Summit.
