Prof. Viola Schiaffonati of Politecnico di Milano’s Dipartimento di Elettronica, Informazione e Bioingegneria joined the European Commission Expert Group on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data in Education and Training as a Informatics Europe representative.
The group started working on Thursday, 8 July 2021 and its primary task is to assist the Directorate General for Education, Youth, Sports and Culture with the preparation of practical guidelines for educators with concrete practices on the ethical implications of AI and data use in education and training. Members of the group support cooperation and the exchange of information, expertise and best practices between the Commission and relevant stakeholders. The group also helps to raise awareness within the education and training sectors about the opportunities and risks of the use of AI and data.
We congratulate Prof. Schiaffonati for her new role and express our gratitude for her support and contribution as a representative of Informatics Europe.
