Digital technologies have great impact to our economic and social life. The European approach to the digital transformation does not only shape the future EU but also has great influence to the world.

In March, the European Commission proposes a Digital Compass presenting the EU’s digital ambitions for 2030.  As a follow-up, the Commission launched a public consultation on the formulation of a set of principles to promote and uphold EU values in the digital space. Representing over 150 member institutions across 34 countries, Informatics Europe submitted feedback to this consultation in early September. Our feedback will contribute to a proposal from the Commission, expected by the end of 2021, for a joint inter-institutional declaration on Digital Principles of the European Parliament, the Council, and the Commission.

For full details of our feedback to this public consultation on European digital principles, please visit “Feedback” session on our Publications webpage.
