IE Endorses DIGHUM’s Open Letter on the Urgent Need to Regulate Digital Technologies
As a long-term collaborative partner of the Digital Humanism initiative, Informatics Europe endorses its latest effort, the Open Letter on the Urgent Need to Regulate Digital Technologies.
The letter calls for immediate action to ensure that digital technologies are developed and governed in ways that uphold humanistic and democratic values.
EU's regulatory tools aim to safeguard information integrity, prevent monopolistic abuses, and demonstrate how technology can benefit all while minimizing risks. To uphold digital sovereignty, the EU should continue fostering global cooperation on AI and digital regulations, while implementing proposals for deeper EU integration and investment (Letta and Draghi reports).
By signing this Open Letter, Informatics Europe reaffirms its commitment to defending democratic and humanistic values, ensuring digital technology serves the greater good of humanity.
Individuals and associations are encouraged to read in full and sign the Open Letter here: Open Letter on the Urgent Need to Regulate Digital Technologies.
