Professor Carlo Ghezzi, President of Informatics Europe and Professor and Chair of Software Engineering at DEIB, Politecnico di Milano, Italy, has been granted the 2015 Outstanding Research Award by ACM’s Special Interest Group on Software Engineering (SIGSOFT).

Informatics Europe is happy to announce the publication of the report "Informatics Education in Europe: Institutions, Degrees, Students, Positions, Salaries. Key Data 2008-2013".
Informatics Europe is engaged in a continuous effort to collect key data on informatics education in Europe and make it available in a useful and informative way to its members and the community.
On December 11, 2014, Informatics Europe sent the following letter to the relevant EU authorities in response to the proposal of the President of the European Commission for a significant change of policy and budget for the Horizon 2020 support program for research and innovation:
In recognition of its initiatives promoting computing in primary and secondary schools, Computing At School (CAS), from the UK, has won the 2014 Informatics Europe Best Practices in Education Award.
